Managing Serious Incidents in National Screening Programmes
Following extensive consultation, the UK NSC's guidance on managing serious incidents in the non-cancer screening programmes is now available and can be downloaded from the Quality Assurance page.
This guidance, as part of the National Framework for Reporting and Learning from Serious Incidents requiring Investigation, which was published by the National Patient Safety Agency in March 2010, is intended to build on and align existing policies at local, regional and national level.

BMA statement on direct-to-consumer screening
In a joint statement from the British Medical Association and the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges, doctors have called for an end to misleading advertising claims on health tests, saying that the tests have "significant risks" and can be "unreliable and inaccurate".
The UK National Screening Committee has already published guidance for GPs on this topic and is currently producing information for the public.
